Reducing Climate Change-Induced Risks and Vulnerabilities from Glacial Lake Outburst Floods [Bhutan]
The goal of the Reducing Climate Change-Induced Risks and Vulnerabilities from Glacial Lake Outburst Floods project is to take an actual step of the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) process towards realizing the priorities policy recognized. It tackles not only the risks due to climate change-induced Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding (GLOF) but also other possible long-term climate change-induced risks by integrated adaptation practices to disaster risk management. It is expected to demonstrate practical measures to lessen climate change-induced GLOF from Thorthormi Glacier Lake and to facilitate sharing lesson learning in other high-risk GLOF areas both within and outside Bhutan.
