| Carbon Markets Asia -Expanding Asia's Carbon Markets |
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: June 23-24, 2009
Following successful editions in Singapore and Hong Kong, the 5th annual Carbon Markets Asia will take place in Kuala Lumpur to enable greater accessibility for project hosts and industry representatives from Asia’s 3rd largest CDM project base. Carbon Markets Asia will continue to bring together leading international players to examine
barriers and opportunities which abound this dominant market. Asia has
become increasingly active in the Clean Development Mechanism and has earned
its place as the global leader in generating CDM credits. The Chinese and
Indian dominance of the market is well documented but other countries in
Asia are fast emerging as key players in the region’s carbon markets. Significant
investment is being made to generate Certified Emission Reduction credits
in waste treatment, palm, cement and other sectors in countries such as
Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. What progress has been made and
how can Asia realize its full potential? Carbon Markets Asia is an integral event in Green Power’s Carbon Markets Global Series, an annual calendar of events which provide an excellent platform for stakeholders to learn and do business, driving growth in developing markets.
